My attitude has been changed

This book is definitive the best general book on attitudes and attitude change that I have read the past three years. It has been most helpful in structuring my own theoretical building blocks, and has triggered me to change my own lectures within this important field. In its simplicity but impactfulness, this book should be mandatory for master students in social sciences.

Good, but room for improvement.

This is a well written text book, the subject matter relieved by personal anecdotes. As the book continues, you realise that the anecdotes are a particular way of changing your attitude to the subject matter. As someone who does not live in North America, some of the examples are completely unhelpful, and I found myself particularly annoyed by White and Black used to refer to human beings instead of white people and black people. There is insufficient mention of other cultures, particularly Asian cultures, with less individualistic and more community based standards.

This is one of those rare books that is written in plain English and describes technical information without the use of jargon. Einstein once said, "everything should be made as simple as possible but not more so". The authors have followed Einstein's admonition in a wonderfully lucid, easy to read, but informative book that I would highly recommend.
