About the Author
Harris M. Cooper is professor in the Department of Psychology & Neuroscience at Duke University. He earned his doctorate degree in social psychology from the University of Connecticut. His research interests include research synthesis, applications of social and developmental psychology to educational policy issues, homework, school calendars, and afterschool programs.

Great for a beginner with limited statistics background

I was doing a meta-analysis for my final project for an engineering management master's. I have a very limited background in statistics and literally had no idea how to do a meta-analysis, barely understood what it was. This book took me step by step to understand how it works. I read it cover to cover. This book I believe got negative reviews, so I purchased "Introduction to Meta-analysis" by Borenstein et al. first. Big mistake! I couldn't understand anything in it. After reading this book first, adapting it to medical studies instead of social sciences, I was then able to understand the other book. Definitely recommend for someone who is just starting out and needs some hand holding.
